Duties
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including teeth cleaning, scaling, and polishing
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Assess patients' oral health and provide appropriate treatment recommendations
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment plans
- Assist the dentist during procedures as required
Qualifications
- Valid dental hygiene license in [Alberta]
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program. UofA grad preferred.
- Proficiency in open dental software preferred
- Experience in dental assisting or customer service roles
- Ability to multitask, delegate & communicate, especially in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of dental office procedures and protocols
- Understanding of medical terminology
