Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and providing exceptional patient care. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing dental cleanings, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality care in a friendly and professional environment. This is a one year maternity leave, with the possibility of extension. The schedule is Tuesday - Saturday. Holiday weekends are off. Two week break at Christmastime.

Duties

Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients of all ages.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary tools and support.
Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix software.
Perform periodontal assessments and take diagnostic radiographs as needed.
Collaborate with the dental team to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
Provide excellent customer service to enhance patient experience and satisfaction.

Qualifications

Valid provincial license to practice as a Dental Hygienist and HARP
Experience in a dental office setting is preferred; familiarity with orthodontics is a plus.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry.
Previous experience in pediatrics is beneficial for working with younger patients.
Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with patients and their families.
Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to better serve our diverse patient base.
Proficiency in using Dentrix or similar dental practice management software is advantageous.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
