Job Description:
We are looking for entrepreneurially-inclined people with experience handling dogs, a passion for animal health and a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As a member of our team, you will work directly with one or more of our Canine Dental Health Specialists (all trained and registered dental hygienists) to serve dog owners in their homes (or occasionally in pop-up clinics with local retailers), in providing professional dental hygiene services in a safe and caring way that improves canine dental health. Your responsibilities will include:
- As part of one or more 2-person teams, work closely and effectively with a Canine Dental Health Specialist to deliver safe and successful canine dental hygiene services in clients' homes.
- Ensure the comfort and well-being of each dog before and throughout the treatment process by expertly holding, handling and soothing each dog with gentleness, confidence and firmness.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with clients to address any questions or concerns they may have before, during, and after the procedure.
- Continuously strive to improve the customer experience by seeking and providing feedback, implementing best practices, and maintaining high standards of service quality.
- Coordinate client information, client intake and pre-treatment documentation with CDHS Teammate(s), as well as uploading photographs and Treatment Records and other Post Treatment service quality assurance documentation.
- Collaborating with RRDD Client Services and other RRDD Teams to maintain or improve service standards for every client treatment, including ongoing field training and possible supervision.
- Proactively solicit and build relationships with new clients, promoting our services and developing a reliable base of repeat customers for yourself and your RRDD Teammate(s).
- Collaborating with, and supporting our talented team in producing client-centered information and resources such as enewsletters, web and social media content, local print and event marketing initiatives to profile RRDD Inc. as innovators, thought and industry leaders in the area of canine dental health.
· Qualifications:
- Physically fit and strong enough to hug and safely handle mid- to large sized dogs. Comfortable crouching or kneeling on the floor while holding dogs steady for minutes at a time.
- MUST LOVE DOGS - Passionate about dogs and commitment to helping dogs and their owners lead healthier, longer lives.
- Previous experience working with dogs in a professional setting, such as veterinary clinics, animal shelters, or pet care services, preferably with 5-10 years of work experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact well with clients and their pets.
- Proven ability to be socially entrepreneurial and comfortable soliciting new clientele, with a demonstrable track record of building and maintaining customer relationships.
- Own a car, with flexibility to travel locally within a designated urban area, adapt to different client environments and schedules.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team as a dynamic, purposeful and community-facing entrepreneur, supporting your Teammate(s) and providing exceptional care to every dog and every dog owner.
- Demonstrated empathy, compassion and patience when working with animals, especially in potentially stressful situations, to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Willingness to train in canine CPR and other handling classes with the goal of developing proficiency in canine dental assistance and treatment safety.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or training in canine health, training and handling or related field.
- Knowledge of basic canine behavior, preferably with an understanding of dental health principles.
- Experience working with anxious or fearful dogs, using positive reinforcement techniques to promote relaxation and trust.
